Acts 2:1-4 (NKJV)
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, and the Spirit gave them utterance.
Have you ever noticed in the Bible that many times Jesus can be found in a storm, or surrounded by a storm? The Day of Pentecost was preceded with a storm on the church in Jerusalem where a loud noise came from Heaven, winds blew and fire fell on the people, which resulted in a change in atmosphere, ultimately a change in the language each of the people spoke. The effects of this storm are still evident today, over 2000 years later.
Psalm 126:1 (NKJV)
When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.
Storms change the atmosphere of a situation. What storms are you facing or currently experiencing in your life? Are you experiencing a storm in your family? With a spouse? With your children? In your finances? In your personal faith, or walk with Jesus? God will use storms in your life to purposefully change the atmosphere and change you personally for the better. Pray through your storms that God will get a hold of you and change your heart. God promises restoration and God given dreams again (Psalm 126:1). A God given dream that follows restoration after experiencing a storm is so big, so powerful that your logic will say “NO!” but your spirit will be whispering, “yes!” Faith pleases God, so be bold in your prayers and actions to live out your God given dreams! Instead of allowing the storms in your life to knock you down and off track, pray God restores you through the changed atmosphere and your changed heart to dream again!
Write your specific storms that you are experiencing (or have experienced) in your life. Identify how the atmosphere surrounding your circumstances has changed as a result of the storm and pray for restoration and God given dreams that are promised to follow. Reflect over the year of the restoration and the new dreams God has and will give you.Thank Him for these times of storms, change, restoration and new dreams! Respond in the comments below.
We recommend you keep a journal of your personal responses to questions posed in each of the daily devotionals so you can meditate not only during the first 21 days during your prayer time, but you can reflect throughout the entire year to be able to see how God has really moved on your behalf in 2016 and you have record of your testimony.
