2. Repentance produces JOY

Godly sorrow produces repentance

Comfort follows mourning

“You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭2‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. For behold what earnestness this very thing, this godly sorrow, has produced in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what avenging of wrong! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Great message Daniele, thank you

““Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭4‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭12‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Repentance = change

““I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.” ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

““Speak kindly to Jerusalem; And call out to her, that her warfare has ended, That her iniquity has been removed, That she has received of the Lord’s hand Double for all her sins.”” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭2‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit! When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Then the glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub on which it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen at whose loins was the writing case. The Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” But to the others He said in my hearing, “Go through the city after him and strike; do not let your eye have pity and do not spare. Utterly slay old men, young men, maidens, little children, and women, but do not touch any man on whom is the mark; and you shall start from My sanctuary.” So they started with the elders who were before the temple.” ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭9‬:‭3‬-‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
